The 2026 Dr. Stuart Farber Excellence in Hospice & Palliative Care Award was presented to Adrienne "Adie" Goldberg, LICSW, PhD on October 19, 2026, during WSHPCO’s “Centered in Care” Annual Clinical Conference at Campbell’s Resort in Chelan, Washington.

Adie was selected for the Farber Award in recognition of her leadership, mentorship and commitment to expanding high-quality palliative care in Washington’s rural and underserved communities. Through the Washington Rural Palliative Care Initiative and her work with individual organizations and clinicians, she has helped rural teams build palliative care programs, strengthen clinical practice and find practical solutions despite limited resources.

Colleagues describe Adie as a trusted educator and mentor who meets communities where they are, generously shares her expertise, and keeps patients’ individual goals at the center of care. Her impact reaches beyond the teams she directly supports to the patients and families receiving better serious-illness care in their own communities.

Adie’s work to build knowledge, confidence and sustainable palliative care services reflects the leadership, compassion and commitment to excellence that the Farber Award was created to honor.
